The Chairwoman of the New Cities Executive Authority, expert engineer Nahla Kamel Alwan, headed a meeting yesterday, Monday, to discuss the designs for the new Al-Fursan residential city in Baghdad. During the meeting which included a committee from the New Cities Executive Authority, the Housing Department, and the Urban Planning Directorate, Mrs Alwan pointed out several observations on the submitted designs, emphasizing the importance of implementing the city according to global environmental standards, allocating part of the city for economic activity, providing green spaces, adopting a sustainable sewage system, as well as proper planning of new roads and providing wide paths for pedestrians and bicycles. At the end of the meeting, NCIA’S Chair woman emphasized the need to accomplish the observations and approve the city’s basic designs to move to the implementation phase.
